Importance of Water, sanitation and water supply scheme
Now heating season starts and many parts of country looks drought prone. These days many of them are enjoying with water and many of them are dying for a drop of water.
Now in many parts of country water crisis is rising. So help someone who is in search of water. Saving human life is utmost priority then property or financial losses. The government must think how to end water crisis in coming days and years. Because day by day temperature may rise and may results in problems like heatstroke, exhaustion and dehydration.
We don’t know when water cycle fails but we know the dates of forthcoming events. The day is not far when the price of water equals to price of gold. Now whole month of May and June are waiting and we drained out the groundwater and left hand-pumps, tube-wells and other water sources dry. During these days please try to wet the throat of commuters.
Important points in water supply schemes
It is very important that before we start a water supply for particular locality or residential are a scheme is drawn out and schemes are prepared by combination of filed observations and office work and also check out different aspects of scheme in from the view of different prospective.
Important points in water supply scheme are:-
-
- Population of locality from census of previous years, present population and future population of 3 to 4 decades by any suitable method.
-
- Sanitary survey of area i.e. presence of any available water sources, which helps in estimating the contamination of water from such sources.
-
- The quality of water decides method of treatment of water.
-
- Topography of area i.e. low lying area, ridges helps in deciding economical water supply scheme.
-
- Source of water supply (river) i.e. it should be adjusted to new water supply scheme and scheme entirely depends on it.
-
- Rate of consumption of water such as domestic, industrial usage and public usage.
-
- And at last availability of fund for the fulfillment of the water supply scheme.
Sanitation is the process of controlling or eliminating the sporadic outbreak of diseases and is the public health work executed by officials of Health Engineering Departments or Sanitary Engineers.
Some factors responsible for transmission of diseases are :-
- disposal or carriage of human excreta
- air conditioning and ventilation
- plumbing fault in case of buildings
- menace of insects with regards to food and other services
- water supply in town.
Sanitation change lives of people. Nearly one billion people still defecate in the open, without access to even basic toilets or handwashing facilities. Improved sanitation, hygiene and safe water save millions of lives, accelerate self and economic growth, enhance people’s dignity, and create a better future for all.(https://www.wsscc.org/why-sanitation-and-hygiene/)
Friends, as a citizen it’s our first duty to keep our surrounding clean and green for healthier environment and for healthier body. So start today from home to country.
How to make a dream city in developing countries?
-
-
-
- There should be a proper lighting system on streets
-
-
-
-
-
- There should be a proper public transport system and non- motorized modes of travel like walking and cycling
-
-
-
-
-
- we have to avoid dead ends and dark spaces by a proper lighting system
-
-
-
-
-
- footpaths should be free from encroachments by providing 2 to 2.5m wide space.
-
-
-
-
-
- avoid women harassment in public transport by providing policemen on streets and in buses.
-
-
-
-
-
- there should be a high-quality bus-based mass transit system
-
-
-
-
-
- there should be a foot over bridge for crossing main lane traffic
-
-
-
-
-
- implementation of traffic signals and signs on intersections and on public places.
- there should be a close observation of streets and public places by installing cameras.
-

I think someone is watching us, So don’t show it on paper, show it on the field. Hello, friends give your suggestion and innovative ideas on dream city plan through valuable comments.
Principal processes of land treatment by wastewater are:-
-
- Rapid infiltration :- It is mainly used for groundwater recharge(i.e. underlying confined aquifers) or wastewater disposal. Here the treated wastewater is discharged into a large basin, where Bermuda grass(helps in nitrogen removal) which can persevere in wet or dry condition and grass covers the bottom of large basin which is underlined by gravels, sands and soils of high permeability.
-
- Broad Irrigation or sewage farming :- In this method treated wastewater is applied through sprinkler or surface application and depends upon percolation and infiltration capacity of land. Percolation depends on soil characteristics and infiltration depends upon degree of clogging at the soil surface.
-
- Overland runoff :- This process is applied when permeability of soil is poor. Here 5 to 8% slope of land is required for flowing of sewage to take place. The complex compounds in presence of air, heat and light by the help of bacteria will convert into simpler harmless minerals(i.e nutrients). In this Hay grasses are grown to minimize flow of nutrients like potassium, nitrogen and phosphorous in sewage along with organic matter which may increase fertility of soil.
